Povos indígenas de Manaquiri: uma história de mobilização por afirmação de identidade e direitos

Abstract

This experience report aims to document research conducted between March 7th and 25th, 2024, in the villages of Manaquiri-AM, focusing on the valorization of cultural identity and the struggle for land demarcation and access to basic services by the Mura, Munduruku, and Miranha indigenous peoples. The investigation, based on a qualitative approach, included semi-structured interviews with indigenous leaders, allowing for a deeper understanding of their experiences, challenges, and achievements. The results showed a strengthening of cultural identity, although land demarcation and the quality of health and education services remain critical challenges. Active listening and community organization were identified as essential strategies of resistance. The study concludes that the implementation of respectful public policies and the promotion of equitable dialogues between indigenous villages and government authorities are fundamental to guaranteeing the dignity and survival of these populations.
