Resumo

The “pupunha” is a species belonging to the Family Arecaceae found mainly in tropical regions. It is cultivated who market in the free markets of the cities, is considered as a subsistence food source by the rural population and has great commercial value due to its potential in the production palm heart. The objective of this work was to evaluate the germination process and morphological aspects of the influence of different substrates of three breeds of Bactris gasipaes (peach palm) occurring in the region of Parintins – AM. The experiment was conducted in the Higher Studies Center of Parintins (CESP – UEA), the laboratory and in the nursery belonging to the Pupunha Project. In seeds were purchased at the free fairs of the municipality of Parintins – AM. After the treatment, the seeds were cultivated in the different type’s substrates and taking ail necessary care with the planting. With this, it was possible to evaluate the entire germination process and to evaluate the results obtained. Thus, the first sign of germination occurred at 35 days on the substrate of the pupunha in the small and yellow pupunha of the large on the organic fertilizer substrate. The seed germination readings occurred from 35 days to 49 days and it was possible to determine the best substrate in seed germination and to characterize the vegetative development of seedlings.
