Resumo
This study aims to elucidate and highlight diverse nuances of performances through
an interpretative analysis of the first movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's
Concerto No. 4 in D Major, based on presentations by winners of the Menuhin
Competition in their respective years. The literature review presents analytical criteria
related to bowing techniques, articulation, and dynamics in specific passages.
Mozart's violin concertos notably stand out for their stylistic complexity, showcasing
exceptional technical mastery and a profound understanding of the expressive and
idiomatic characteristics of the instrument.
This comparative analysis seeks to meticulously explore both the intrinsic similarities
and divergences in the performance choices of laureates in the Menuhin Violin
Competition. By considering both the technical-musical aspects and the
interpretative nuances of the winners, the aim is to discern distinctive elements that
led to their achievements in this highly esteemed competitive arena. In summary, this
research reveals diverse possibilities regarding the interpretations of the winners,
subtly expanding the cognitive understanding for the execution of Concerto No. 4,
KV218.
