Sinalização turística: um olhar sobre o Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia

Abstract

The present research aimed to analyze the tourist signs referring to the Centro Cultural Povos da Amazônia, both the access and the ones present inside the attraction, making a parallel with semiotics and its importance for the interpretation of signs. Being motivated by the fact that the CCPA is one of the most distant tourist attractions from the Historic Center, requiring adequate tourist signage so that visitors can reach the Cultural Center without difficulties. In this attempt, the Historic Center of Manaus was considered as a starting point for the investigated destination: the CCPA. In addition, a qualitative form with 13 questions was designed for two groups: residents in Manaus who did not visit the CCPA and residents who visited the attraction. With the results obtained, an insufficiency of tourist signs indicating the destination was evidenced, however, the information within the Povos da Amazônia is sufficient to meet the needs of visitors, in addition to being said by the respondents that improvements in structure, dissemination and greater investment at the Centro Cultural Povos da Amazônia would attract even more visitors to the site.
