Resumo

This study aimed to investigate how cell phones can be used as a pedagogical resource for producing texts in Portuguese language classes. The study was developed in a public school in the city of Parintins/AM, involving two classes of 3rd year high school students. The research is based on the growing presence of mobile devices in students' daily lives and the need to integrate these technologies into the school environment in a critical and productive way. Among the main theorists who support the study, Moran (2007), Kenski (2007), Lévy (2010), Melo (2015), Ramos (2015), Marcuschi (2008), and Sartori (2019) stand out. The methodology used was qualitative research, together with field research, with direct observation in the classroom, as well as the application of questionnaires to students, interviews with two Portuguese language teachers, with the manager and the pedagogue, and a workshop for producing opinion articles using cell phones. The study showed that the mobile device was effective in the research, review and writing stages, contributing to the development of textual competence. The study also indicated that planned use of the cell phone can favor learning and make classes more collaborative, dynamic and linked to the students' reality.
