Resumo
Evangelical women play a fundamental role in the history of their communities, and their trajectory is marked by significant struggles and achievements. Traditionally, congregations were dominated by a patriarchal vision, where men occupied most leadership roles. However, over the years, many women have begun to challenge these norms and claim their rights within the church. In this sense, this experience report, in the format of historical research on the municipality, aims to demonstrate the trajectory of this activity common to the training of historians, analyzing the position and role of women within the evangelical context, exploring possible restrictions or limitations imposed on them in their religious practices. To achieve the objectives of the study, the Oral History method was used, based on the recording of the narratives of four female interviewees from different evangelical congregations. The results point not only to a significant gain in female space within churches, but also to the paving of a more participatory path for women of future generations, showing that the fight for gender equality is a necessary task independent of religious dogma.
