Morfologias das inflorescências: uma proposta de material didático para o ensino de Botânica

Abstract

Flowers grouped together on cauline branches are called inflorescences. This unique feature is present in angiosperms, a group that includes plants with flowers and fruits. The content of angiosperm inflorescences is approached superficially through the excessively theoretical teaching still present in botany classes. The study of inflorescences is of great taxonomic importance, as it involves morphology, ecology and species classification. In this context, the objective of this work was to elaborate a didactic material in the form of an illustrated catalog as a pedagogical tool to support the teaching of botany. The catalog was prepared from illustrative boards with information, photographs and paintings of the main examples of morphology of inflorescences collected in the municipality of Parintins, Am. The species of angiosperms with inflorescences were collected, photographed and herborized to prepare the catalogue. 36 species of angiosperms were listed and 14 nomenclatures were recognized for racemose and cymose inflorescences, with emphasis on raceme, capitulum and dichasium morphologies. this study contributes to elucidate the importance of the study of inflorescence morphologies and to help teachers and students of basic education in the contemporary teaching of botany.
