Integração e avalaiação de QoE da ferramenta bigbluebutton para webconferência integrada a plataforma moodle

Abstract

Technology-mediated education has developed in recent years, so distance education has also been increasingly used thanks to the evolution and ease of access to technology. The Virtual Learning Environments have become indispensable for the offer of EaD, among them one of the most outstanding is Moodle, because it has many resources, allow the inclusion of others through plugins and still being of free license. One problem that has been pointed out in distance education is the interactivity between its actors: teachers, tutors and students; being the reason of high evasion in courses offered by this modality. An alternative to EaD to make interactivity closer to a classroom classroom is the use of web conferencing for classes and live webnários, thus, the student will have the same feeling of being in a classroom, with direct interaction with the teacher and the other colleagues. In this work we evaluate the QoE and the integration of the webconference platform BigBlueButton to Moodle. To do this, we have created a controlled experimentation environment with the two integrated platforms and a network infrastructure similar to a real production environment. The results indicate that the tool BBB has excellent usability in both its features and interface design. It also allows excellent control of the resources, allowing management to the moderator and blocking, when necessary, to the other participants. As for QoE with audio and video, the evaluation indicated that it depends on the bandwidth and the number of users participating in the webconference.
