Resumo

This research work presents an analysis of interpretations of students spectator, related to an excerpt of the Kedacery performance by UATÊ Cia de Dance from the northern region of Brazil, with translation by Peircean Semiotics, made by the present researcher. Based on theoretical references about the proposed theme, such as Peirce (1839-1914), Setenta (2008), Katz (2005) and others, it will talk a little about the trajectory of the company's representative Mara Pacheco, a little about the UATÊ company, and about the objective of the work done in the company. To make a semiotic analysis, it is very important to remember that interpretation is entirely linked to the cultural and social repertoire in which the spectator is inserted, that is, one must take into account all his or her experiences, because each individual can interpret in his or her own way. With that in mind, the interpretations will be captured from first year high school students and the research will be focused on the semiotic analysis of everything the scene is proposing, such as costumes, objects, scenery and, mainly, the movements, making the perception of the students' interpretations and relating them to the creator's proposal. By showing the understanding of each student about each category presented, we can make an analytical conclusion, if the choreographer and the dancer are managing to make their audience recognize what is being proposed by them in their work. The results obtained were significant, the students made their interpretations in a succinct way, for not having experience with what was being proposed, but they were enough to obtain the results. The students were able to interpret what the scene could contain, but they couldn't interpret the historical context that was happening in the scene; they identified it, but in a different way, thus creating another context.
