Relato de experiência: as tradições orais e a artesania do cipó ambé e titica com a família Souza (Maués/Am)

Abstract

The general objective of this experience report is to investigate the importance of the art of weaving Ambé and Titica vines in the Souza family in the municipality of Maués. To support the research, a bibliographic survey was necessary. The methodology used was oral history, which sought, through the accounts of the Souza family, their perceptions regarding the importance of the art of weaving vines, ancient knowledge that expresses the history, customs, beliefs, and values of a community. In addition to being a source of income, especially for people who live in more remote communities, it contributes to income generation. Handicrafts play a social role that also involves a sustainable activity; it is a practice that encompasses tradition, sustainability, and economy, reaffirming its social, cultural, and economic value.
