Resumo
This paper reports on the experience of a supervised internship at Almirante Barroso State School, where history classes were taught to elementary school students. The main purpose was to evaluate the activities carried out during the internship, highlighting the obstacles encountered, the pedagogical strategies employed, and the results obtained. During the internship, the content covered was based on local history, allowing students to explore the culture, traditions, and significant events of the municipality of Boca do Acre. This contextualized approach helped students better understand their regional identity and the importance of their history within the broader context of Brazil. Classes also included hands-on activities, such as creating texts and drawings representing local history and group discussions, promoting student engagement and more meaningful learning. To meet student needs, classes were planned and delivered using a variety of pedagogical resources, such as slide presentations, short videos, and debates. Analyzing the results revealed a significant improvement in student engagement and understanding, particularly through participatory approaches. Concluding that the internship was essential for the development of teaching skills and for the adoption of a reflective pedagogy, favoring a deeper understanding of educational demands.
