Resumo
This work seeks to identify the Ethnoknowledge used in the fishing work processes
craft in the indigenous community of várzea Tauarú, Novo Brasão in view of the constitution of its
local way of life. The specific objectives seek to characterize the socio-historical formation of
community of Tauarú, as well as to typify the techniques used by artisanal fishermen in the
process of commercial and subsistence fishing and its relationship with the hydrological periods, and which are the
criteria for choosing the equipment used in those periods, and finally describe the main
aquatic environments used in fish capture and their relationship with the knowledge used. The methodology
of the research was carried out through the qualitative and quantitative perspective, with the use of interviews,
observation and socioeconomic questionnaire. The study seeks to demonstrate the techniques and forms of fishing
of the Tauarú community, its content presents the way fishing activities are
employed and how they are involved in the aquatic environments of different locations, in spaces of
rivers, lakes, ressacas and holes, as well as their relationship with the hydrological changes of the river courses.
