Resumo
This article aims to show the existence of linguistic prejudice within the school environment,
questioning the real reasons that lead to this reality. The overall objective stands out in describing the
linguistic prejudice present in the school context. Having as specific objectives: detecting practices
pedagogical ones that can reflect on prejudice; ask how students react when someone manifests
linguistic prejudice; raise awareness of respect for the diversity of language among speakers. This survey was
carried out in a comprehensive way about recurring actions in classrooms. This research was based on
some theorists: TARALLO (1994), BAGNO(1999), BORTONI-RICARDO (2004). How does the school environment become
became practically an arena of battles, where students defend themselves from the "lions" of the cultured norm or the standard the
attacks in all ways, making teaching-learning difficult for those students who survive or end up
resisting grammatical force. The focus of the research is to describe the occurrences of linguistic prejudice and
thus, in turn, make students and educators aware of not policing themselves in the famous majority of radicals in the
grammatical language. This work was a field research with a proposal of application of activity to be
perform in the classroom in Elementary School II with 6th and 9th grade students, a questionnaire was proposed
about linguistic prejudice. At the same time, it is a participatory research in the sense that the
involved, in this case the students and teachers, acted collaboratively so that the objectives were
achieved.
