Resumo
The present study seeks to analyze the implications of sexual abuse in the educational process
of children in the Initial Grades of Elementary School and the educator's view on the subject.
The theme was chosen when the researcher was asked to visit the daughter and granddaughter
of a friend. And when making such a visit, he learned that his friend's 11-year-old
granddaughter was abused by her grandfather, then also by her uncle. The researcher was
shocked by the report and thought that somehow she should help other children who suffer
sexual abuse, that's when this research came about. For the development of this research, a
qualitative approach was chosen. And for the theoretical basis of the researched theme,
bibliographic research was used, from material already prepared, consisting mainly of books.
In order to carry out this work, we also sought to employ the inductive method for a better
understanding of the observation of the phenomena under discussion. In the perspective of
finding concrete data, which support the discussion in the interpretation of the elements about
the theme, a field research was also carried out. Data collection for this research took place
from two perspectives: a questionnaire with seven teachers from the Initial Years of
Elementary School and an interview with a manager. A thematic analysis was carried out,
generating categories that made it possible to understand the positions of teachers regarding
the phenomenon. This pointed out that not all educators are aware of sexual abuse. It was
observed the need for a training of educators that prioritizes awareness of this issue and offers
tools to direct a sensitive look at the child
