Resumo

This work has as its theme Playing in the learning process and development in early childhood education. Our general objective was to analyze the importance of play for the children's world and its contributions in children's learning and development. The specific ones were: discussing the importance of games for the teaching and learning process of children; review Brazilian legislation on early childhood education; understand the features and contributions of the treasure basket, heuristics section, tray of experimentation and role playing for the development and formation of child. To achieve the objectives, a bibliographical research was carried out and documentary with a qualitative and dialectical approach. In the results and discussions, we discussed the legislation of early childhood education such as the LDB, DCNEI and BNCC, clarifying the rights of children in the educational field and in the act of playing, in addition to to discuss the contribution of the game that the researches of the theoretical reference pointed. We conclude play is an essential part of education planning infantile because it helps children to develop and express their perceptions about what they are learning.
