Resumo
This research arose from the need to understand the territorial conflicts in the Janauaca lake region, specifically the so-called "Fish War" of 1973, which involved local farmers and fishermen. Elaíze Farias' documentary, released in 2012 on the A CRÍTICA Portal, revealed that fears about the recreation of these conflicts still persist in the community, reinforcing the importance of deepening the historical study. The main objective of my work is to preserve and value the collective memory of Janauaca, while also seeking to promote mutual respect among the inhabitants of the region. This project is highly relevant because, by recovering the history of the Janauaca lake, we rescue a fundamental part of the local identity, which has often been forgotten or neglected. This understanding of the past is crucial for current and future generations to better understand the present and orient themselves towards a more harmonious future. Therefore, the research results have a practical impact: by identifying the causes and consequences of these conflicts, we can contribute to the formulation of more effective public policies and territorial management practices. Learning from the past is essential to promoting peaceful and sustainable coexistence among communities that share the same geographic space.
