Abstract

Environmental Education is one of the indispensable tools to form an environmental conscience in society, for a development that does not only contemplate the unbridled economic, but a model that includes society, without losing sight of environmental preservation. The objective of this monograph was to get to know the environmental education actions developed in the city of Parintins- AM, their contributions in the improvement of urban spaces and in the awareness of individuals for a critical reflection of current environmental issues. The result was that the three groups of environmental movements approached in the research have been acting for years in an attempt to minimize environmental impacts caused by society, spreading Environmental Education as a way to promote environmental and human awareness, aiming at new practices and attitudes of environmental precepts, with the realization of actions involving the community, educational institutions and public authorities, to preserve the resources present in green areas in the city's urban environment.
