This course completion work discusses the importance of role playing
in early childhood education. Role playing is an enriching activity and
irreplaceable for the child, constituting the main activity from the age of three to seven
years old. It is through this activity that children get to know and
they understand the social roles of adults and their relationships. the general objective
of this project was to discuss the importance of role playing and its contribution to the
child learning and development. For this, it is based on the
following specific objectives: to understand the importance of role playing;
to show how much the make-believe game contributes to the development of
higher psychic processes and formation of the child's personality; elucidate the
importance of role playing in educational practice. This research is of character
bibliography, developed based on authors who study and defend the
relevance of role playing, such as Elkonin (1987), Mukhina (1996), Facci
(2004,) Larazetti (2016), Leontiev (1998) and Mello (2007). As a result, we have the
defense that in role playing you obtain the opportunity for the occurrence of
development of higher psychic functions, such as imagination, speech,
memory, attention, control of conduct and thought, because as the
child has the opportunity to play, he is developing his psychic functions
superiors that humanizes it, as well as through social relations, developing
your personality. The importance of games in early childhood education is clearly seen,
as it contributes significantly to the learning and development of
child. Teachers are fundamental in this process: observing, planning
and organizing the conditions for the development of play.
