Religião e cultura: um olhar sobre a construção do patrimônio cultural de Ipixuna a partir dos movimentos e práticas religiosas dos munícipes

Abstract

This study aimed to present an overview of the construction of the cultural heritage of the municipality of Ipixuna-Amazonas, based on the religious festivals held in the city. These festivals are not exclusive to the church or the faithful of a particular religion, but are part of the city's culture as a whole, as they permeate other areas of society such as commerce, culture, cuisine, leisure activities, and personal relationships. The research used the oral history methodology, employing accounts from residents to understand how these festivals were developed and consolidated over the years. We used interviews as instruments for data generation and for the analysis of the interviewees' statements, employing a qualitative approach. The research results show that religious culture is a vital aspect of human identity, influencing individuals and societies in profound and significant ways, bringing various benefits and contributions to the community.
