Elaboração e validação de um manual de brigadistas florestais para o CBMAM

Abstract

This study describes the development and validation of a Forest Firefighter Training Manual for the Amazonas State Military Fire Department (CBMAM). Motivated by the increasing number of wildfires in the region and the lack of standardized institutional material, the research proposes an instructional product tailored to the specific conditions of the Amazon biome and the operational reality of CBMAM. The methodology combined bibliographic review and documentary analysis to constructo the content, as well as the application of a validation questionnaire among brigade members from various municipalities in the state. The results indicate broad approval of the manual: 84% of respondents reported missing didactic material during their training; 76% considered the content clear; and 74% rated it as appropriate to the Amazonian context. Feedback highlighted the need to expand sections on logistics, firefighter safety, and the use of mechanized equipment. It is concluded that the manual represents an important tool for standardizing training, strengthening integration between brigade members and military firefighters, and supporting institutional management of wildfire risk in Amazonas. Broader field testing and periodic updates of the content are recommended to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
