Resumo
The growth of the elderly population is a worldwide phenomenon and to achieve aging in a positive way, leisure travel is one of the important elements for their well-being. With the advent of the internet, a new form of research on tourist destinations has emerged, which allows for evaluation by would-be travelers through the comments of those who have already visited the destination. This is called e-WOM. This study aims to evaluate the influence of "online word-of-mouth" (e-WOM) in the choice of tourist destination by the elderly. The study is characterized as exploratory-descriptive, having carried out an online Survey. There was a growth in the use of the internet by the elderly, as well as a tendency to seek information about tourist destinations on the internet, despite the strong influence of tourism agencies in the choice of tourist destination. This research aims to contribute with tourism operators in the development of strategies to better serve the public object of this study.
