Resumo
This monograph, a case study on handicrafts marketed at the Adolpho Lisboa Market in Manaus, capital of Amazonas, sought to present the local productive arrangements in a sample analysis, based on the analysis of the profile of the licensees responsible for the commercialization. Based on the data obtained, it presents the characteristics of the most sold products according to the preference of the tourist. Results indicate that there are no effective local productive arrangements in the region of the Adolpho Lisboa Municipal market, maintaining a purely commercial activity without effective participation of the authentic artisans. The procedures of this research were quantitative and qualitative. The sample in the universe of the Municipal market was defined based on the permission holders that work with the arbtesanato activity. The survey of this study was of bibliographical character, since it was consulted books, scientific articles, manuals, and periodicals that served as basis for the analysis and understanding of the current picture of diverse positions on the subject; and of field, with realization of visit to the boxes, application of questionnaires with the permission holders, registry of identification cards accompanied by photographic registers. Through the research, it was possible to contextualize the issues dealt with along with the concepts of the tourism production chain, as well as the local productive arrangements of the craftsmanship that associated with the historical Adolpho Lisbon Municipal market, allowed to understand the dynamics of how the commercialization of the artisan in this center of tourist visitation, inaugurated in 1883. Parallel to the field research, which occurred between May 4 and 10, 20018, visits were also made to the communities of Tiririca, Santo Antônio, Tumbira, Saint Helena of the English, Saracá and Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro that are part of the RDS of the Rio Negro, in order to observe the potential in the production of handicrafts of these localities. Comparing the data obtained with the Adolpho Lisboa market, associated to what was observed in the handicraft production in these communities, it was concluded that there is a great potential in production that could have a great commercialization opportunity in the Adolpho Lisoboa Market, with great flow of tourist visitation, but, lacking a productive arrangement that makes feasible and articulates supply to demand. As this does not happen, it is gradually concluded that there is a loss of Amazonian identity, leading to oblivion the potential of traditional communities in relation to the production of handicrafts, while maintaining a purely commercial trade in souvenirs.
