Resumo

The present work has as objective to investigate the teaching knowledge of a group of music teachers in Manaus (more specifically of an instrument) considers to possess and to understand how these knowledge are mobilized. The method chosen for the development of this work was the survey. Five teachers in the categories of undergraduate, and undergraduate students in music licentiate, undergraduate and undergraduate students in music bachelor and non-graduate teachers in music participated in this research. With regard to the theoretical reference, we use the studies of Tardif and Gauthier, complemented by specific authors of music education. As a result, it was concluded that even with their formation focused on musical performance, the bachelors were the ones who presented the most knowledge pointed out by the authors of general and music education. In relation to the music licentiate and music licentiate student, we can affirm that although their curricular grade offers pedagogic knowledge, both in theory and in practice, this kind of teacher did not present as much knowledge as expected. The teacher of music without higher education has demonstrated that his teaching knowledge is linked to everyday experiences, thus it seems that they gather knowledge as they face difficulties in their daily practice. This work is expected to contribute to a reflection on the knowledge needed by music teachers resulting in a personal and professional enrichment for all involved in the music education scenario.
