Resumo
The main objective of this article was to analyze the teaching of literature at the Duque de Caxias State School, developed in the 2nd and 3rd Years of High School, with the purpose of verifying whether or not students have a taste for reading, in addition to identifying in which area of the Portuguese language experience more difficulties in learning. Through this, it was noticed that the vast majority of students do not have the habit of reading and understand little about the concept of literature, an issue that leaves much to be desired, as they are high school students and should have literary knowledge, at least the basics. . As a theoretical basis, we sought relevance in the ideas of ZILBERMAN (2008), AGUIAR and BORDINI (1988), among other authors who helped to develop the Corpus of this work. The type of research used was the quali-quantitative method, in addition to the bibliographical one. Data collection took place through observations together with the application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions. It is expected that there will be a reflective look on the teaching of literature, awakening in future teachers the motivation for a more dynamic differentiated teaching and that provoke in the students the desire to learn literature for pleasure and not for obligation.
