Resumo

Arrabidaea chica, popularly known as Pariri, Cipó-pau, or Crajiru, has several medicinal properties, including astringent, anti-inflammatory, healing, antitumor, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. It is indicated for the treatment of uterine and ovarian inflammation, syphilis, leukemia, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, intestinal cramps, psoriasis, impetigo, ulcers, and cosmetic use. Although it is a widely studied organism, the number of studies involving this species has fallen below 50 in the last 10 years, and in Amazonas, this number is even lower, with a total of four studies in this area. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the chemical profile and determine the antioxidant potential of aqueous extracts of the different anatomical parts of A. chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verlot (Bignoniaceae) obtained in the municipality of Tabatinga, Amazonas. To begin this study, two collections were made at different locations. One part of the plant material was used for exsiccation and the other for extract acquisition. The exsiccation procedure was performed in the chemistry laboratory of CESTB/UEA and stored in the UEA/CESTB Teaching Herbarium – Plants of the Upper Solimões Region. To obtain the extract, roots, stems, and leaves were used, oven-dried for 48 hours at 40°C. The samples were sent to the laboratory of the Escola Superior de Saúde – ESA/UEA and to the National Institute for Amazonian Research – INPA for determination of antioxidant activity and mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. Only samples with antioxidant activity (AA) ≥80% were selected to determine the 50% Efficiency Concentration (EC50). Xcalibur software was used to process the mass spectrometry data, and the characterized structures were drawn in ChemDraw. The data presented in this study are expected to contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge and encourage biological and chemical studies of medicinal plants in the Alto Solimões region. The AA% results suggest that the antioxidant potential resides in the leaves. The chemical profile determination by MS yielded positive and negative ESI profiles, and six compounds belonging to the flavonoid class were characterized: vicenin II, scutellarein-O-glucuronide, 6-hydroxyluteolin-O-glucuronide, 6-methoxyluteolin-O-glucuronide, scutellarein-(6"-Ocaffeoyl)-glucopyranoside, and carajurine. This study investigated the pharmacological potential of the plant A. chica, with an emphasis on its antioxidant activity. The results demonstrate high potential for compounds with antioxidant activity.
