Resumo
This research project presents a mapping of the structure of state schools in the urban
area of Itacoatiara, as a way to evaluate the adequacy of the physical space for
accessibility and mobility, for the care of people with physical disabilities. Many
schools, although considered fit, do not meet the legal requirements for reducing
architectural barriers that make life difficult for students with special needs in schools
and often even restrict them from developing a certain activity. The objective of the
research is to map the state schools of Itacoatiara with the aid of the Visual Class Net
Server tool which allows to generate reports and graphs of the electronic
questionnaires developed through it. In addition to the tool and its resources, other
methods for carrying out the work were also adopted, such as: Bibliographic survey,
On-site visit and Analysis and discussion of data. From the analysis of data collected
through electronic questionnaires, it was found that, of the 14 schools that were
analyzed in this research, only 2 meet the accessibility requirements proposed by NBR
9050, 1 does not meet any of the requirements and the rest has 1 or more items
adapted to your space. Thus, it is concluded that there is still a great shortage of
equipment adapted for the disabled, and an environment where they can really feel
good. For this reason the demand of these students in school is still low, since there
are not many students enrolled in state schools in Itacoatiara, and often this situation
occurs precisely because schools do not have adequate structures to serve this public.
