Resumo
The motivation for this paper lies in the change in the High School curriculum that Brazil has
been through in recent years, which has affected not only Physics teachers, but also the general
functioning of schools and especially students. The so-called “new” High School should bring
improvements to Brazilian education; however this is not exactly what has been happening.
The main focus of this article is on Physics teachers, that is, the teachers who teach in regular
schools, in the “new” High School, and the “future” Physics teachers who are in the final phase
of graduation, the in order to know if they followed the recent changes, how they see the “new”
High School and how they and the students were affected by these changes. The methodology
of this work consisted of a qualitative and quantitative research, which was used for data
collection questionnaires, in addition to a bibliographic review on the NEM. According to the
data collected during the research, there is a greater tendency to revoke the NEM on the part of
teachers who teach this “new” teaching modality, than the “future” Physics teachers.
