Resumo

This work had as objectives to subsidize the analytical and structural understanding, as well as the musical characteristics of Cajarana, through the detailed description of the compositional process. With this, it was also intended to contribute to the interpretative construction of this work, for possible future interpretations. A detailed examination of musical elements related to the harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and formal structuring was carried out, as well as the conceptualization of the term mode and a brief historical approach on the baião, maracatu and frevo genres present here. We used assumptions, among other authors in this paper, by Schoenberg (2008), Persichetti (1985) and Almada (2008) regarding the compositional process; and Paz (2002), Fretias (2008), Guerra-Peixe (1955) and Tinhorão (1974) referring to the term mode and historical aspects of the cited genres.
