Resumo

This text presents a scientific study with a qualitative, phenomenological approach, through exploratory, bibliographical and documentary research. It discusses cordel literature from Portugal to Brazil and how this narrative has been adjusted to new technologies. The research problem was characterized by the following question: What is the pedagogical potential of Cordel on Instagram? The general objective aimed to analyze the pedagogical potential of cordel on Instagram and the specific ones: a) to identify which pedagogical strategies can be used with cordel to value cultural diversity in education and b) what is the contribution of cordel production in initial teacher training. We opted for a qualitative, exploratory methodology, by analyzing the statistics on Instagram, in particular the insights from the profile of the extension project promoted with the support of the State University of Amazonas - UEA in 2020, entitled "Teacher training: Cordel as an experience in the social media of the Amazon Museum". In addition to the statistical analysis, a bibliographic research was carried out on the Scielo Brasil platform to answer the first specific objective, an individual and semi-structured interview with the student volunteer of the project. We ended the research by concluding that Instagram is a viable digital platform for initial teacher training, as it has positive results, such as increasing student engagement, facilitating access to material, developing digital skills, valuing culture and effectively evaluating student progress.
