Manaus na literatura ficcional: uma análise da obra Dois Irmãos de Milton Hatoum como preservação da memória da cidade.

Abstract

The theme Manaus in Fiction: An Analysis of the Work of Two Brothers by Milton Hatoum as Preservation of the Memory of the City, refers to a deep descriptive analysis of the Work. In view of the importance of preserving the memory of a city, as well as propagating its image as a form of promotion and dissemination for the strengthening and development of tourism. This research intends to study the presence of the memory of the city Manaus and its importance present in the Romance. The specific objectives consisted in the identification of the historical context and its relevance to the city, present in the work, inserted to the fiction. The research approach was qualitative, with technical bibliographical and documentary procedures. From this investigation it was possible to identify that the narrative studied presents an interesting historical scenario that includes mainly the last decades of the century. XIX and the first years of the century. XX, the period in which the Economic Decline of Rubber Production occurs and the beginning of the Military Regime in Brazil. It was also possible to recognize in the novel the constant presence of the Regional Culture, manifested especially by the daily, its habits and customs of the time, represented by the outdoor tours for tasting the typical cuisine of the region. In addition to the boat trips to Rio Preto da Eva and Careiro, and the trip to the baths, like the Waterfall of Tarumã. In view of these results, it is believed that it is possible to use this type of Literature as an instrument to stimulate the preservation of the city's memory, as well as the propagation of its image.
