Resumo

This study analyzed the technological development of startups participating in the 1st edition of the Ocean Launch program in 2024, using the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) scale as the main metric. The program, part of Ocean Brasil, aims to train early-stage startups through mentoring and periodic evaluations. The research was characterized as a case study with a documentary basis, analyzing data from mentoring reports and evaluations. The results showed that startups like A and B evolved from TRL 4 and 5 to TRL 9, showing technological maturity and the ability to enter the market. On the other hand, startups like C and H progressed to levels 5 and 6, showing challenges in the “Valley of Death”, a critical phase of development. The study reinforces the importance of acceleration programs to increase the sustainability of startups, offering technical and strategic support. Among the practical contributions are relevant data for managers and policymakers, highlighting the role of initiatives such as Ocean Launch in reducing startup mortality rates and strengthening technological competitiveness on the national stage.
