Resumo
This account of historical research describes the organizational process, struggles, and achievements that marked the lives of rural workers in the municipality of Novo Aripuanã in the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period in which they organized their union actions. The objective was to understand the organizational process of the rural working class, in order to perceive their struggles, achievements, and legacies for the population of Novo Aripuanã. Furthermore, it aimed to bring to light the figures made invisible in this context of struggle who were fundamental to the rural working community, thus constituting a scenario of achievements that are reflected in the lives of many rural families today. To this end, the Oral History method was used, based on the conception of Meihy and Holanda (2020), to record the narratives that flow from the memories of the union members and form their collective memory regarding the movement. Through the formation of the union, the peasants united around a common identity, which not only strengthened their individual voices but also created a cohesive movement in pursuit of better living conditions.
