Resumo
This study aims to investigate the different concepts between myths and legends presented in textbooks adopted in Basic Education of state schools in the Municipality of Tabatinga, as specific objectives that trace the unfolding of the main theme, namely: to point out the contents of such theme in the pedagogical manuals for basic education; promote the confrontation of definitions that are in agreement or in disagreement with those presented by the main scholars of this specific field of human knowledge. Such research is justified by the need to understand the acceptance of mythological and folkloric knowledge in the school environment. The methodological procedure is based on descriptive research with a qualitative approach and anchored in Aspects of the myth, by Mircea Eliade. In this perspective, some steps for the investigation were followed: data ordering, classification and final analysis. In the first moment of the research, the textual corpus analyzed was delimited according to the educational books adopted in the classroom in Basic Education. Then, an exploratory survey on the theme was carried out, looking for the various definitions presented in the examples used in class and for research. Finally, the correlations and dissimilarities between myths and legends presented in the researched works were confronted.
