Resumo
This study has as its central theme to reflect on the relationship between the practice of classical
ballet in the school context and the psychomotor studies applied to the psychomotor development of
children. Thus, the general objective is to analyze the association of psychomotor skills in classical
ballet classes for motor development of children aged 4 years in a private school located in the city
of Manaus. As for the sample, the selected participants were four-year-olds attending the first period
of the afternoon shift. This is a descriptive research with qualitative approach and phenomenological
method. For data collection, the Fonseca method (1995) was used, which consists of the application
of the Psychomotor Battery (BPM), which is an evaluation instrument, based on a set of tasks that
allow the identification of functional deficits or its absence in the study. psychomotor terms. At the
end of the study, it was possible to conclude that objective psychomotor activities can be used as a
tool in early childhood education, as they help the child's psychomotor development.
