Resumo
Teaching botany has always been a challenge in the classroom, there are times when
students see plants as part of the world regardless of their functionality and contribution
to life. It is in the classroom through the teacher that the student has the opportunity to
learn about vegetables and thus can generate good attitudes towards the environment.
Therefore, the present work aimed to apply didactic strategies for the teaching of
botany in natural science classes in the seventh year of the Benicio Rodrigues Pena
Municipal School in Boca do Acre, AM. First, students' prior knowledge of botany was
assessed by means of a questionnaire containing basic questions about flower, fruit
and seed, followed by a class using different didactic strategies to teach about
reproductive structures and finally to find out if The applied strategies were effective
by applying the same initial questionnaire. As a result, most students were able to state
that the flowers are for plant reproduction (96%), that the fruit comes from the flower
(80%), that the fruits exist to protect the seed (76%), in addition, There were questions
where all the students got it right, stating that the flowers are colored to catch the
insects' attention and that the seeds are meant to hold the embryo of the plants. At the
end of the work it was possible to conclude that strategies had the expected effect, the
students highlighted as one of the most interesting moments the practical class. Thus,
the application of didactic strategies in botany classes can be a good alternative to
have a dynamic and learning class.
