A participação da mulher na política Ipixunense: obstáculos e desafios

Abstract

This research reports on women's participation in politics in Ipixuna, highlighting the challenges and achievements women have faced in securing the right to exercise democracy and the right to be elected. Within this context, the study focuses on the local politics of the municipality of Ipixuna, conducting interviews with several female councilors who have been and are still part of the municipality's political history. The research also sought to investigate their difficulties as councilors, their daily experiences, and their projects for building a more just and egalitarian society for all. It is important to emphasize that women's participation in politics remains a minority, and despite their struggles, they prioritize issues such as health, education, quality public policies, and greater female representation. The presence of women in political leadership positions is seen as more inclusive and attentive to the needs of vulnerable people, such as women and children, and in the fight to end social inequality.
