Resumo

Understanding Chemistry teaching is considered an area of study and research, especially its contents, principles and processes in the area of Teaching. This research aims to carry out an approximate study between the teaching of Chemistry in Haiti and Brazil, specifically in secondary/secondary education in both countries. For this, we opted for a qualitative, descriptive and analytical research, which covers a bibliographical review regarding the teaching of chemistry in high school, and the identification of problems in teaching and learning the topic addressed, in addition to participant observation in a high school class in Brazil and the researcher's experience as a Chemistry teacher in Haiti. The results point to the students' preconceptions and the difficulties of teaching and learning about the teaching of Chemistry; furthermore, we make approximations about students' perceptions regarding the teaching of chemistry in high school in Haiti and Brazil. The conclusion aims to understand the Chemistry teaching methods experienced in the classroom and the need to update teaching principles and processes, in this case, based on the reality of a class of 1st year high school students, Amazonas /Brazil, and another, from secondary level 1 students, in Haiti.
