Resumo
The goal was to develop an Educational Technology (ET) about masking in autism based on the
synthesis and translation of knowledge available in the literature and validation of the content
with specialists. The methodological research was conducted in three phases: literature review,
using standard descriptors and the question "What are the masking strategies used by women on
the autism spectrum and what impacts do these strategies cause on their mental health and
diagnostic trajectory?" in databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and LILACS; production of the
ET in booklet format, following the editing and diagramming process, obeying criteria related to
content, structure-organization, language aspects, layout, and cultural sensitivity; and content
validation, using the Snowball Sampling technique for recruitment and a validated questionnaire
for the stage. A general Content Validity Index (CVI) result of 98.1% was obtained from the
response of 11 specialists, thus demonstrating its validity for use. After validation, the ET is
ready to be used as a learning instrument, being a new contribution to the dissemination of
quality information for people within and outside the healthcare area.
