Resumo
This paper presents the results of a study conducted by a deaf academic who, as part of her training as a geography teacher, felt the need to research methodological approaches that would facilitate the understanding of geographic themes and concepts by deaf students. The study aimed to evaluate the pedagogical potential of models as teaching materials capable of facilitating the learning of deaf students about transformations that have occurred in the countryside and in the city. The research, in a qualitative approach of descriptive analytical nature, used the development of a sequence with deaf students from the Padre Paulo Manna Audio Communication School, located in the city of Parintins, AM. To collect data, questionnaires with objective questions were applied to the students in order to ascertain the degree of involvement and interest of the students in the class and, at the same time, the level of learning about the topic under study, using the model as an instrument to facilitate learning.
