Avenida parque: valorização do espaço histórico-cultural como oferta no âmbito do turismo urbano no município de Itacoatiara-Amazonas

Abstract

This course conclusion work aimed not only to identify the elements that make up Avenida Parque, located in the municipality of Itacoatiara-Amazonas, but also to contextualize it according to the city's historical evolution process, and also to investigate the degree of knowledge and the resident's perception of this heritage in relation to the value it represents for the social memory of itacoatiarense, in addition to making an assessment of the potential of the street as an offer to develop tourism. The general objective of this research was to identify the identity elements of Avenida Parque de Itacoatiara for the promotion of urban tourism and its specific objectives were: i) to talk about Avenida Parque in the context of urban evolution; ii) investigate the perception of the user and resident about the importance of Avenida Parque for the social memory of the city; and iii) Assess the potential of Avenida Parque for the promotion of tourism activity. Considering the theme of the study, qualitative and quantitative research was used in the methodology and in the technical procedures, bibliographic, documentary and field studies were chosen, the latter interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic; however, explored through the application of another method known as “snowball”, a type of non-probabilistic sampling, in which social media are used to support the results. As for the research objectives, they are of a descriptive and exploratory nature. According to the results obtained, it is indisputable that the landscape of the Green Tunnel of Avenida Parque has tourism potential, mainly due to its landscaping, but there is a need to carry out the maintenance and ordering of the elements that compose it in order to enhance it. . Furthermore, it reaffirms the importance that it adds to the historical and cultural context of Itacoatiara, but it needs to be perceived, valued and recognized as a heritage that is part of the resident's daily life. Therefore, it is believed that if the population has access to this knowledge, they will start to value the space as a symbol of local identity and as a significant potential for the economic development of the city, through tourism.
