Resumo
The research aims to provide a more comprehensive overview of the socioeconomic data of women in the municipalities of Tabatinga and Benjamin Constant, both in the state of Amazonas, and how this profile affects the issue of early pregnancy and women's opinions on this important aspect of their lives. The method of this study involved administering a field questionnaire with guiding questions related to pregnancy and the socioeconomic profile of women. The questionnaires were administered in public schools, universities, and the general population in the target municipalities. Two hundred women aged 15 to 56 participated in the survey, contributing to a better understanding of their pregnancy experiences, their care during pregnancy (if they were mothers), and their lifestyles. Detailed and quantitative data were collected to demystify the diverse perceptions about pregnancy at different ages. The survey concluded that of the 63.5% of adolescents interviewed aged 15 to 20, 44.9% are sexually active and 8% are mothers. Given these data, we can observe that despite early sexual activity in these cities, the pregnancy rate among adolescents is relatively low. However, teen pregnancy continues to be seen as both a problem and a reality. It is noted that in 2024, there was a decrease in the teen pregnancy rate, which, when compared to data from the entire state of Amazonas, confirms this conclusion.
