This article apresents as a theme the influence of Portuguese as a second language: the linguistic uses of Tikuna studants of the State School of Indigenous Almirante Tamandaré. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Portuguese as a second language on the linguistic uses of the Tikuna studants in the school and family invironment. For that, sociolinguistic questionnaire and interviews wereused as methodological procedures. The research was based on Hamel, (1988) who talks about social bilingualism that is the coexistence or presence of two languages in the same sociocultural spaces and in (Savedra 1994), which deals with the question of Bilingualism and Bilingual. In this perspective, it is understood that a bilingual community is one in which two languages are spoken, or which its members, or part of them, are bilingual, as is the case of the Indigenous Community of Umariaçú II, place of realization of the research.
