The present work deals with the Ethnobotanical Survey: The popular knowledge of the extraction of andiroba oil (Carapa guianensis Aubl.) by the inhabitants of the Bomfim neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo de Olivença-AM. The methodology used was qualitative (BARDIM, 1977). The application of a questionnaire to the residents of Bomfim, with a diversified age range, was started, thus demonstrating the knowledge passed on by their ancestors. During the work, the seeds were collected, which went through several stages, from the selection of seeds, cooking them, storage for a month, breaking the seeds to remove the mass, preparing the mass to be able to expose in the sun and starting the oil extraction process. This activity is practiced for a long time by the community, passing on knowledge to future generations through observations or practicing extraction with their families.
