Resumo
The study analyzed the importance of standardization in the Amazonas Military Fire Department's (CBMAM) response to landslide incidents, given the recurrence of these events in suburban areas of Manaus. The research seeks to understand how the implementation of a specific Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) can contribute to the efficiency, safety, and speed of response actions, considering the geotechnical and climatic peculiarities of the Amazon region. The methodology adopted was qualitative and quantitative, with an exploratory and descriptive approach, involving a bibliographic survey, document analysis, questionnaires administered to military firefighters, and interviews with experts from other states to compare different operational realities and identify best practices. The results highlighted the lack of specific protocols and training for landslide response, which compromises operational effectiveness and increases the risk for field teams. It was also observed that the lack of standardization generates divergences in the procedures adopted and limits integration with civil defense and environmental agencies. It was found that the adoption of uniform practices, combined with technical training of the troops, is essential for improving institutional performance and reducing response times in incidents. Therefore, it is concluded that the creation and implementation of a SOP focused on landslide response is essential for modernizing CBMAM operations, strengthening risk management, crew safety, and protecting the Amazonian population in the face of the intensification of urban geotechnical events.
