Abstract

The University of the State of Amazonas began scientific initiation activities in 2003, with the help of the recently created Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Amazonas State - FAPEAM for the implementation of the Support Program for Scientific Initiation of Amazonas (PAIC) and a scientific initiation program exclusively for students from the interior of the State of Amazonas (Program Strategic Support for the Integration of Interior Students to Health Sciences. from 2010 onwards were implemented, with the support of the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Institutional Programs of Scholarships for Scientific Initiation (PIBIC and PIBIC-Af), and Initiation in Development Technology and Innovation (PIBITI). The 2016-2017 edition was guided by public notice Nº15/2016–GR/UEA. participated of this edition 656 students and 321 mentor teachers, developing projects of scientific initiation in five units of UEA located in Manaus (Escola Higher School of Health Sciences, Higher School of Arts and Tourism, Normal School Higher School of Technology, Higher School of Social Sciences) and five Centers for Higher Studies located in the interior of the State (Centro de Estudos Superiors of Itacoatiara, Center for Higher Studies of Tabatinga, Center for Higher Studies in Parintins, Center for Higher Studies in Tefé and Center for Higher Studies of São Gabriel da Cachoeira). This publication presents the simple abstracts prepared by the researchers after the completion of the scientific initiation, the individual content being their responsibility.
