Resumo

This course completion works with the theme "Street Dance, Aesthetic Education in the school environment". This theme was born from the problem: Can Street Dance play a fundamental role in the acquisition of Aesthetic Education, using the English language as an instrument to understand the nomenclature of street dances? Thus, the proposal arose to verify the relationship between Dance, specifically Street Dance, and the English language in the teaching and learning process in the teaching of art at school, as a process of Aesthetic Education. By understanding that Street Dance can offer an enriching approach in the teaching of Art, but also in the school environment, we proposed the path of carrying out a comparative analysis between the movements of this dance and the personal experiences of the students. Through the understanding of the nomenclatures of the movements, often called in English, this practice can be understood as an instrument of Aesthetic Education in the teaching-learning of the discipline of Arts. This process favors reflection on dance as a means of generating aesthetic education, by exploring the movements and culture of Street Dance, encouraging artistic expression and a broader and deeper understanding of the theme.
