Resumo

The scope of this research is to develop Creative Dance within the school environment, from a cognitive process with children who are in the early years. To achieve the objectives, a qualitative, field research was used as a methodology, with the technique of action research, where it was necessary to have a long contact with the students to accompany them, thus evaluating the artistic creation in dialogue with literacy. The Study was divided into three moments: in the first, some Creative Dance classes were taken to learn sounds with the body, thus raising a cognitive process. The second were held Dance classes, linked to the discipline of Portuguese Language, and to start my observation of the reading of the world and interpretation of the students. The third and last moment was the process of choreographic creation entangled in literacy. The result of the research presented how Dance can be a powerful research object for the improvement of teaching and learning within the school and also provide a cognitive process of autonomy in the child's life.
