Resumo

This article aims to verify the use of the 1st person singular subject pronoun in singular in narrative texts of students of the Fundamental Education II in Manaus. This verification of the subject intends directly in the categories Filled and Null. It is a research of Quantitative nature It is a Quantitative research and has as theoretical contribution the Variationist Sociolinguistics, highlighting Labov (1972) and Mollica (2008); Textual Linguistics, among the highlights Bonifácio &Maciel (2010) and Tatit (2018); and some of the studies on Pronominal Subject that have been conducted in Brazil, specifically Duarte (1995) and Novaes (1997). Through this aim, this study also verifies if the usage trends of the subject 1st person pronominal subject in writing present or not the same trends of use in speech. The results The general results of the analyses pointed out that the category Null still overlaps with the category Filled, The results of the analysis showed that the Null category still overlaps the Filled category, unlike some studies on orality which show the exact opposite.
