Abstract

How can writing be used to discuss issues of the intersectionality of social markers in a black Amazonian identity? The objectives of this work are to present black feminist thought and the work Um Defeito de Cor, by Ana Maria Gonçalves, in order to understand the construction and affirmation of social identity based on the researcher's academic and personal trajectory. Personal accounts of childhood, adolescence, emotional relationships with parents and religions, among others, were gathered. How does one construct and validate an identity based on affections, the way one relates, sees oneself and positions oneself? And what can be expected from this compilation of knowledge and reflection so that the violence directed at those who identify as women, black, bisexual and Amazonian ceases? The term escrevivência, coined by Brazilian writer Conceição Evaristo (2020), allows black researchers in Brazil to contribute to the issue of political identity classification in such an economically and racially unequal country, as well as the idea of intersectionality introduced by black feminist authors such as Sueli Carneiro (2019), Patricia Hill Collins (2019), bell hooks (2019) and Lélia Gonzales (2009) identify the markers such as classicism, sexism, racism and LGBTphobia that have taken shape in the socialization spaces of black women. Translating the experiences into words requires the individual marker, but without failing to formulate questions that impact the collective. The results show that themes such as poverty, femicide, unemployment, harassment and exclusion are common to the lives of black Brazilians and how the writing of black women in their various capacities can remedy negative stereotypes stemming from racist and sexist structures. To this end, this work sought to understand how the writing produced by black women and for black women contributes to the construction of the social condition of black Brazilian women.
