Aspectos socioeconômicos da temporada de cruzeiros 2018/2019 na cidade de Parintins.

Abstract

This paper highlights the socioeconomics aspects identified during the cruise ship season of 2018/2019, in the city of Parintins, in the state of Amazonas, achievement of its product contributes to the dynamization of certain economic and social activities. The destinations, when visited by cruise ships, benefit in different ways, such as the increased flow of tourists in cities that move the local economy and the surrounding economy. The general objective of this study was to identify the socioeconomics aspects arising from the tourist activity of cruise ships that have stopover in the city of Parintins in the 2018/2019 season. The research was qualitative and quantitative and the instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire applied to people who work with tourism and attended this season. Through field research were made observations, take notes and photographic records, as well as dialogues with these service providers. The results obtained in this research identified positive and negative aspects resulting from the tourist activity of cruise ships in the city, under the view of these workers. The positive results were job and income generation for the population, as well as ideas for the improvement of next season, such as the opening of new cultural centers, improvement of the city’s port structure, among others. As for the negatives, we observed the ineffectiveness of the competent government agencies in the tourism planning. The conclusion highlights the lack of public policies, especially in the Port Passenger Terminal and the qualification of the professionals.
